Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…Yes, in that order!
We spend our days at Sara Bella swimming in a sea of plastic, reusing it in treasured totes of all kinds. Our business model specifically revolves around using trash. We make art for change and to educate, reusing hundreds of bags daily, saving them from the landfill. Landfills are reaching all-time capacity levels reflecting our modern day consumer habits and disposable way of living. Since 1960, America has tripled the amount of waste we generate! Almost 1/3rd of waste generated in the U.S. is packaging. Despite the waste of our frivolous consumerism, we have evolved toward a culture of recycling. The past decade has seen an approximate increase in total recycling by 100%. How can we shift toward a stronger culture of reducing?
